Everybody loves a mongrel. The lightest shoe I've ever run in. Hoka One One is the brand that made maximal running shoes a reality.
However, I have runner's knee and I'm training for a marathon. HOKA ONE ONE customer service is HORRIBLE.
Hoka One One is a brand that is well known for their over-the-top cushioning, and across most of their lines, they deliver on this promise.This promise of high cushion is what draws people to the brand year after year. While reviews are mixed – you either love ‘em or hate ‘em – I was impressed by the Carbon X. The Torrent is light—9 ounces each for a men’s size 9—and skips a rock plate in an effort to shave weight. In the same category, Arc’teryx’s Aerios FL Mid GTX is a formidable competitor. They offer a proper amount of response and can handle a wide variety of terrain.

As Hoka One One shoes in general, are expensive shoes, expect to pay a lot for these, but as with most things you get what you pay for. This is probably one of the best additions to a Hoka One One upper that I have seen. It absolutely enhances comfort and gives the shoe a premium feel. The HOKA Bondi 6 is about 30% heavier than the Rincon (10.9 oz vs. 7.7 oz), but still doesn't feel "heavy" while running and has significantly more cushion for my knees.
You must be be super patient or super lucky to have a chance to talk to their representative. The shoe itself is EXTREMELY light.

THOMAS: I thoroughly enjoyed my miles in the Rincon. The podiatrist recommended Hoka One One shoes during my recovery from a fractured metatarsal which he said was a repetitive stress injury. But it also works well for me on rocks, roots, boulders and steep climbs. The Arahi is one of the better shoes along with the Hoka brand in terms of durability, very few runners reporting issues with long-term use of the shoe. The Torrent is HOKA ONE ONE’s foray into their version of minimalist footwear, and its introduction in 2018 showcased a shoe unlike any of HOKA’s maximalist, heavily cushioned trail runners.
