Independent IR Residency: The independent residency is a two-year program (PGY6-PGY7) that takes place after completion of DR residency. Welcome to the Stony Brook Medicine SUNY Stony Brook Program at Mather Hospital Integrated Interventional Radiology Residency Program. The OHSU Integrated Interventional Residency is approved for two positions matched per year. Fellows receive training in all aspects of the modern CVIR practice. IR/DR certification: Graduates of an interventional radiology residency are qualified to take the IR/DR examination offered by the American Board of Radiology (ABR). The IR Residency is an integrated clinically oriented residency, which incorporates DR, IR, and clinical management of patients with a surgical internship included. Furthermore, the residency allows the trainees an opportunity to become more familiar with and participate in research to further the field of vascular and interventional radiology.

The program accepts one resident per year. The integrated IR residency is five-years in length (a total of six years of post-graduate training with the required internship year). The Interventional Radiology Residency Program is dedicated to training physicians in minimally invasive, image-guided techniques to diagnose and treat diseases in nearly every organ system, while providing high-quality patient care. Residency Essentials is a two-year, self-paced online training and education program for residents that delivers uniform, high-quality education covering the breadth of IR in one curriculum.

Interventional Radiology (IR/DR) Residency For students interested in interventional radiology, Johns Hopkins has received ACGME approval for an IR integrated residency and has implemeneted the Early Specialization in Interventional Radiology (ESIR) training in Diagnostic Radiology.

The IR residency is a 5-year program that combines comprehensive and state-of-the-art training in both diagnostic and interventional radiology. The first three years of training emphasize the development of strong diagnostic radiology skills and therefore closely mirrors the Diagnostic Radiology Residency Program. The final intent of the residency is to allow the trainee an opportunity to become proficient in the clinical practice of interventional radiology. The Vascular and Interventional Radiology Division at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital is proud to be one of the first programs in the country to receive ACGME approval and has had an approved Interventional Radiology Residency since 2017. Interventional Radiology Training. The Interventional Radiology-Integrated Residency Training Program is a 5-year ACGME-accredited residency program which begins after completion of a 1-year ACGME accredited clinical experience, followed by three years of diagnostic radiology training and subsequently two years of interventional radiology training in a clinically-oriented teaching environment.
