The Center operates a REU summer research program that attracts students from a national base of colleges and universities, particularly undergraduates from underrepresented groups enrolled in minority serving institutions and four-year colleges, many that are members of the Faculty Resource Network at NYU. At NYU Grossman School of Medicine, our Sackler Institute of Graduate Biomedical Sciences offers qualified college students who have completed their sophomore or junior year the opportunity to participate in our Summer Undergraduate Research Program, also known as SURP. It provides a mathematically rich environment to high school students interested in mathematics, and is designed to encourage them to consider careers in the mathematical sciences. This program is open to high school sophomores and juniors. The intensive summer portion of the program begins with three weeks in Abu Dhabi and provides an opportunity for in-depth exploration of academic topics both in and out of the classroom. With a spirit of perseverance, we have decided to hold NYU SummerStrings 2020 on a remote platform. Six and three week courses may take place between May 26 - July 5 or July 5 - August 16.
